How to check Claude Code usage and reset times

Claude's Usage settings show your remaining allowance and when each limit resets. A menu-bar monitor can keep the same figures visible while you work.

1. Open Claude's Usage settings

Open Claude Settings → Usage. It shows the limits attached to your account, the remaining allowance and the next reset time. This is the clearest first-party view when you want to verify the current numbers.

2. Read the warnings in Claude Code

Claude Code warns you as remaining capacity falls and tells you when a reached limit resets. These warnings are useful during a session, but they arrive after usage is already becoming constrained.

3. Keep usage in the Mac menu bar

ReserveGauge reads the Claude Code allowance available on your Mac and shows the remaining percentage and reset time in the menu bar. Your usage history stays on your Mac.

What none of these tell you

The first-party figures are a snapshot: where you are now. They do not tell you whether your recent pace is likely to reach reset. Reading "62% used, 3 days left" still leaves you to judge whether the remaining allowance is enough.

Checking it without checking manually

ReserveGauge compares the current allowance with your local usage history and projects your pace to reset. The forecast shows whether you are on track while there is still time to adjust.
